Fortress Overlooking Florence Set To Reopen To Tourists Next Month
Forte Belvedere offers some of the most dramatic views of the iconic Tuscan city
The amazing fort that overlooks Florence with some of the most sweeping views of the iconic Tuscan town will finally be reopening to tourists next month.
"Forte Belvedere will reopen on June 24, and starting this year we have been thinking about a relaunch. To focus even more on the cultural and artistic vocation of this wonderful and much-loved place in Florence, we want to give it back to the Florentines, making it increasingly popular and capable of attracting a varied public," Culture Councilor Giovanni Bettarini told the Italian news agency ANSA.
Events will be organized on the terraces of the building, including the cafeteria and the bookshop, notes the article on ANSA. Diversified cultural events, live performances, public art events, conferences, film screenings and festivals will also be hosted at Forte Belvedere.
Mayor Sara Funaro emphasized in the article how it will be possible to "experience one of the most beautiful places we have in our city and make it live for our citizens.”
