Here Are The Dates And Theme For This Year's Venice Carnival Celebration
It's not Thursday, but Venice announced it is throwing it back.
The annual celebration of the Venice Carnival will start with a ceremony at Plaza San Marco on February 14 and the party will be a throwback to the 18th century.
"It is a Carnival dedicated to the time of Casanova, so the eighteenth century will be the common thread that will accompany us from February 14 to March 4, with traditional events but also with many events spread across space and time," Operations Director of Vela Venezia Fabrizio D'Oria told the Italian news agency ANSA.
According to ANSA, “The 2025 edition of the Venice Carnival will be dedicated to "Il Tempo di Casanova", in homage to the legendary Venetian whose birth anniversary (2 April 1725) is celebrated this year.”
So get ready Carnival party-goers to celebrate like its 1799.
