Long Lines in Italy Airports As Liquid Restrictions Return
Restrictions in place again limiting carry-on liquids to 100ml or less
Here in the United States, we are already accustomed to placing liquids in a Ziploc bag and ensuring they are under three ounces before heading to the airport.
However, the recent reimposition of the 100 ml liquid requirement for carry-on bags in Europe caused chaos in Italian airports, especially in the main airport in the nation's capital, Rome.
Tourists were scrambling to dump liquids and get plastic bags before boarding at Rome's Fiumicino airport to comply with the rules now in effect again.
No justification or threat was listed for the restart of the rules. However, travelers should be prepared for long lines until the system gets back to normal with the liquids restrictions.
