Swarm of seven earthquakes shakes the popular Italy tourist destination
A swarm of seven earthquakes caught travelers to the Tuscan town of Siena by surprise.
It started with a 3.1 magnitude earthquake in Siena itself. That was then followed by a swarm of six earthquakes near Monteroni d'Arbia, with the largest being 2.2 and 2.0 in magnitude.
“From the inspections carried out, the absence of critical issues and damage to the buildings that house the schools in the territory of the municipality of Siena emerged. Furthermore, the seismic swarm felt also in Siena did not cause any problems to things or people and no particular reports have been received,” the Mayor of Siena Nicoletta Fabio told the Italian news agency ANSA.
